We are built for connection. We are all are connected to other people wether thats friends, family, colleagues at work, school. those at our church or in the wider community. Stress in relationships is common and even if our relationships are healthy we often desire for those relationships to grow and deepen. Jesus and the Bible have a lot to say about those relationships. A Jesus – centred view of our relationships can propel us into fulfilling and Godly relationships. So for this next season are taking a break from our message series on Acts to look at the topic of relationships.

Paul and Heidi Hughes are passionate lovers of Jesus who teach the word of God in the power of the Holy Spirit, and minister in the prophetic as well as in worship. In every meeting they conduct—big or small—they expect God to come and touch his people with his presence, so lives will be changed and the Kingdom advanced.
Paul earned a PhD in Hebrew and Old Testament Studies from the University of Edinburgh in Scotland, and Heidi received a BA in Biblical Studies from Providence College. Heidi is a visual artist and she loves to let the Holy Spirit lead her as she paints (see her work at heidihughes.ca). Paul enjoys photography, music, writing, and reading.
Paul and Heidi pastor The River Fellowship in Langley, British Columbia, Canada (theriverfellowship.com). They have three sons, two daughters in law, two grandchildren and one dog. Recently, they celebrated their 31st wedding anniversary.

Or next season of YBF life groups are starting in February. Life groups are a chance to get together weekly with a smaller group of believers for worship, prayer, fellowship and bible study. We will be running for around 10 weeks or longer and finishing after Easter. We will be tracking our life group theme with our sermon series on Acts of the Apostles. If you have not been part of a life group at YBF or want to join one please contact us. Please use the contact section of this website to access our phone number or to email us through the website.
In February we are starting a new sermon series studying Acts of the Apostles. This is an exciting opportunity for us to look at the work of the Holy Spirit in the early church, the spread of the Gospel of Jesus and how believers were released into ministry. We hope that this challenges us as a church to engage with the Holy Spirit and in the same way as the early church, work together to see the gospel proclaimed and the kingdom grow. Join us on Sundays and in our life groups during the week as we focus on this together.
